The Milwaukee Bucks Refused To Take The Court And Boycotted Game 5
The Milwaukee Bucks have done something that has yet to be seen in professional sports. The team decided to boycott Game 5 on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
“We’re tired of the killings and the injustice,” Bucks guard George Hill told The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears.
The Bucks never came to the court prior to the 4 p.m. ET start time.
The Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors have also discussed a boycott.
The Orlando Magic were warming up but left the court about 4 minutes before the start of the game.
The NBA and the NBPA today announced that in light of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to not take the floor today for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic, today’s three games – MIL-ORL, HOU-OKC and LAL-POR have been postponed. Game 5 of each series will be rescheduled.
