Shortstop Elly De La Cruz is one of the most hotly anticipated prospects in all of baseball, and Reds fans’ wait to see him play in the big leagues is now over.

Cincinnati’s No. 1 prospect the 21-year-old De La Cruz was called up Tuesday from Triple-A Louisville. He’ll likely take over as Cincinnati’s starting shortstop and is likely to be the face of the franchise going forward. De La Cruz has torn the cover off the ball this season for Triple-A Louisville, slashing an astronomical .298/.398/.633 with 12 homers and 11 stolen bases across 38 games.

Cruz is expected to start tonight versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.
