Someone Paid 518K At An Auction For Tom Brady’s Last Touchdown On Saturday And It Already Lost 500K in Value

One unlucky bidder bet the farm that Tom Brady would remain retired on Saturday, by bidding $518,000 on what was supposedly Tom Brady’s final touchdown pass. Imagine the shock when he realized Brady came out of retirement Sunday night. This man probably thought he hit the jackpot only to have his dreams crushed less than 24 hours later.

The ball is said to be worth closer to $25K than $50K at this point, but that is probably for the story surrounding it.

There is good news for the buyerthough. It is probably unlikely they’ll have to pay for the ball according to TMZ.

According to TMZ the ball was advertised as Brady’s last TD ever, and now, since it won’t be, the buyer could have a legitimate claim to renege on the deal. It’s likely the buyer is a whale in the auction world, and the auction house that sold the piece would almost certainly fight to keep him or her happy.

Either way if you have $500K laying around under your mattress to but a football, it probably isn’t going to be the end of the world if it loses all it’s value anyway.
