A Las Vegas Sportsbook Is Calling For An Investigation Into Tom Brady’s Comeback Announcement Claiming Bettors Received Inside Information

Tom Brady has only been back for two days, and already someone is trying to call for another scandal surrounding the greatest quarterback in NFL history.

The front page of the Las Vegas Review Journal is about bettors possibly having inside information on Tom Brady’s return. According to Westgate SuperBook vice president Jay Kornegay. He believes bettors received insider information last week that Brady would un-retire.

“There’s not a doubt in my mind that they knew he was coming back when they placed those wagers on Thursday,” Kornegay said, via Pro Football Talk.

“And these were not casual bettors. They would be categorized as educated bettors. It wasn’t a guy with a Tom Brady jersey at the counter. It was a player that we would describe as sharp. With that type of play and the announcement we heard Sunday that he was unretiring, there was information that was shared prior to his official announcement.”

A bettor placed a sizeable bet last Thursday for the Buccaneers to win the NFC and Super Bowl. Prior to Tom Brady’s announcement, those odds listed at 30-1 and 60-1, respectively.

Following Brady’s announcement, the Tampa Bay Super Bowl odds dropped to 25-1.

“There is no doubt in my mind that information leaked sometime in the middle of last week,” Kornegay added. “This is concerning. I don’t think I’ve ever said the NFL really needs to investigate something.

“But this is something they need to look into and how it got out, because there are many books that took some sizable wagers in the middle of last week.”

It is entirely possible the bettors were waiting for the right time, and didn’t buy Brady’s half foot out the door announcement a few weeks back, and wanted to take their shot before it was too late. It certainly has a shady appearance, especially with the timing. Brady has always been targeted multiple times in the past on fictitious events. The NFL loves to feed off scandals so Brady fans may want to prepare themselves for the possibility of Retirementgate over the next few weeks.
