Jerod Mayo Expected To Be Bill Belichick’s Successor According To Patriots Reporter That Said Belichick Would Be Fired

The New England Patriots have officially parted ways with Bill Belichick after 24 years and it appears they have already found his successor. According to Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports, who got a lot of hell from the fanbase, and media after suggesting that the Patriots had already made the decision to move on from Bill Belichick a few weeks back, he is saying the Patriots want Jerod Mayo to be Belichick’s successor.

“The indications that I’ve gotten is that Jerod Mayo will be the successor to Bill,” Curran said. “That will be an interesting aspect of this press conference today. I don’t know if it’ll be mentioned or handled in a separate press conference.”

Mayo has been on New England’s staff since 2019 and was a key member of their defense from 2008-2015.
