Vikings Take Shot to Sign Drew Brees
According to the NFL Network and a report by Tom Pelissero, the Minnesota Vikings have made a call on star QB Drew Brees. Everyone has expected Brees to resign with the New Orleans Saints where he has had a fantastic career with 11 Pro Bowl appearances.
Just said on @nflnetwork: The #Vikings have made a call on Drew Brees, per league source. Their plan going into the day was to engage agents for all their QB options. Well, Brees is technically available. No stone unturned.

In 2017, Brees led the Saints to a solid 11-5 record and his always impressive offensive numbers:
4,334 yards passing
23 TD, 8 INT
72% completion percentage (NFL record)
The Viking eliminated Brees and the Saints from the playoffs last year on a last minute miracle play and have been looking to fill in their QB hole for some time now. They have been linked most notably to Kirk Cousins, but Drew Brees even after 17 seasons is still a fantastic option.
Brees will probably stay with the Saints, but kudos for the Vikings organization for taking a chance even though it is probably very, very thin.
