Rob Parker Claims Nobody Ever Talks About The Patriots Cheating And Thinks Bill Belichick Is Not The Greatest Coach Of All-Time

Fox Sports radio host Rob Parker doesn’t believe Bill Belichick is the best coach of all-time. His reasoning behind it is, he doesn’t feel that anyone talks about Belichick cheating. I’m not sure what planet Parker has been staying on for over the past decade when he is not in the studio doing another anti Patriots hot take but it obviously isn’t this one. Since the 2007 season, Belichick and the Patriots have been blamed for everything the media could think up including the weather.

On Parker’s show yesterday he had this to say,

“For whatever reason, Bill Belichick’s full story is never given. When they talk about – when Michael Vick came back, right? After the dog fighting? Every time they mentioned his name, ‘Well, you know he was involved in the dog fighting scandal and went to jail!’ Every time! And anytime somebody did something they’d mention it every time.

They NEVER mention that Bill Belichick cheated, got caught and had a $500,000 fine; the largest of any coach in the history of the NFL. And there’s all kinds of stuff swirling around! Bill Belichick can never-ever-EVER be the greatest coach. There’s a CLOUD there because of the way the Patriots do their business. How can you celebrate what the Patriots have done when they’re attached to SCANDAL? We’re celebrating what the Patriots have done when they’re attached to nothing but scandal and Belichick leads the way. Why aren’t we telling his full story? Someone is going to write a book and expose the New England Patriots. All I hear is Barry Bonds is a cheater, why isn’t Belichick a cheater?”
– Rob Parker

OK, first off the claim about that nobody is talking about the Patriots cheating is pretty laughable when he has basically made his living off doing so. Did he forget about the National Emergency when the PSI levels were falsely reported incorrectly by Chris Mortensen and the media ran with it?

Now Belichick did clearly skirt the rules during the first game of the 2007 season. I believe it was more of a case of gamesmanship. The league wide memo was sent out to teams telling them not to film in specific areas. Belichick certainly did not hide it from his former defensive coordinator who happened to be coaching for the NY Jets in his first game. The filming itself had zero outcome on the game and nothing to do with one of the most dominating seasons the league has ever witnessed, What Parker and many fans around the league fail to realize is, the Patriots were a missed offensive holding call and a miraculous catch on the same play away from going undefeated during the 2007 season. Their inability to record their opponents had absolutely nothing to do with them not completing the task that season, but they would like you to think otherwise.

Now the comparison to Barry Bonds is way out in left field. While Spygate was about stealing signs, with today’s technology it isn’t something that couldn’t be done by a fan sitting anywhere in the stadium. It is basically has the same affect as stealing signs in baseball, you still have to execute the situation even if you believe you know what they are doing. On top of that there is no evidence the film was even used, and this is only one game. Barry Bonds on the other hand was the best player in baseball already and arguably one of the greatest of all-time prior to pumping his body with PED’s and hitting baseballs to places nobody can reach to this day. There is no telling when Bonds started using but there was a clear change around his age 36 season when he started pummeling balls at a greater pace than Babe Ruth. That would be my starting point and that takes up 40% of Bonds career.

If you want to say Belichick cheated during the Spygate game, well call it like it is but it only accounts for a miniscule .29% of his time with the Patriots. A few minutes of film does not change who he is, and he is without question the greatest coach in the history of football.
