Colin Kaepernick Turned Down An Offer From The Denver Broncos
Colin Kaepernick has been out of the NFL since he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. The Denver Broncos are in big time need of a backup quarterback. The blacklisted quarterback apparently didn’t have any interest in coming back to the NFL as a backup.
With Lynch and only rookie draft pick Chad Kelly backing up new free agent signing Case Keenum, John Elway is looking for a veteran signal caller. Apparently Colin Kaepernick doesn’t want to be that guy.
Despite the lack of interest from other NFL teams, NFL Network’s James Palmer is reporting that the Broncos did in fact offer a contract to Kaepernick, only to have it turned down.
Elway on Kaepernick as an option for a vet backup QB spot: “Colin had his chance here. We offered him a contract. He didn’t take it. So, As I said it in my deposition, I don’t know if i’ll be legally able to say this, but he’s had his chance to be here. He passed it"
