Michael Wilbon Had An Epic Meltdown And Claims NFL Fixed The Game For The Patriots

Michael Wilbon of ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption is so upset about the Patriots win over the Chiefs he has brought out his conspiracy card. Wilbon’s claims the referees handed the Patriots the game that allowed the Patriots to get back into the game in the final minutes of the 4th quarter.

Wilbon almost came to tears because he can’t handle seeing the Patriots in another Superbowl. The reality is anyone with any knowledge of the game knows the NFL is not out there to fix the game in favor of the Patriots. The league hates them, Roger Goodell hates them, the owners hate them and most fans outside of New England hate them. Not to mention the officiating crew was headed by famed Patriots killer Clete Blakeman and his crew to the AFC Championship game. If you are unfamiliar with Blakeman, numerous questionable instances have gone against the Patriots in games he has officiated. The Patriots have not had much success with Blakeman as a referee during the Brady era

Prior to the AFC Championship Blakeman had called eight Patriots games since 2010; New England was only 3-5 in those games. The Patriots are 124-32 in all other games during that span.

If you were going to send a referee to help Tom Brady out Blakeman isn’t going to be the guy. Clete is probably the only referee that Brady still has a losing record to and Blakeman has notoriously crushed the Patriots hopes with multiple bad calls in the past.

If the league was going to fix the game it would have certainly been in their best interest to have the young league MVP Patrick Mahomes take down the greatest quarterback the league has ever seen. Wilbon is grasping for straws here and his conspiracy ide is not based on reality.
