Ben Watson Calls Out Roger Goodell’s Silence Over The Non Pass Interference Call

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has once again tucked his tail between his legs and is hiding in a closet in regards to making a statement about the horrific non pass interference call in last Sunday’s NFC Championship game between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams. It seems as though unless Tom Brady and the Patriots are involved he doesn’t have a major interest. Goodell has remained silent on numerous problems including domestic violence, CTE and a number of other problems, though he claims to uphold the integrity of the league.

Not everyone is going to remain silent though. New Orleans Saints tight end Ben Watson has waited patiently for public word from the NFL on the controversial missed penalty call at the end of the NFC championship game, which likely cost the Saints a berth in Super Bowl LIII. NFL officiating chief Al Riveron privately apologized to Saints head coach Sean Payton, but the responsibility to make a public statement falls on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. As the face of the league, so far Goodell has neglected his duties and remained silent. Ben Watson decided to call him out.

“Commissioner Goodell. We all realize that football is an imperfect game, played, coached and officiated by imperfect people. What occurred last Sunday in New Orleans though, was outside of that expected and accepted norm. Your continued silence on this matter is unbecoming of the position you hold, detrimental to the integrity of the game and disrespectful and dismissive to football fans everywhere. From the locker room to Park Ave, accountability is what makes our league great. Lead by example. We are waiting.”

Unfortunately, it appears Ben will be waiting for a long time. Goodell is a crooked coward of a commissioner and is anything but transparent.
