Aqib Talib has been traded to the bowels of the NFL. The Miami Dolphins acquired CB Aqib Talib and a fifth-round pick from the Rams in exchange for a future draft pick.
The Rams wanted to clear Talib’s salary off the books, and the tanking Dolphins were willing to do it for the price of a day-three pick. Currently on injured reserve with a rib injury, Talib isn’t eligible to return until Week 15, but the Dolphins could release him with an injury settlement before then. That could be the most likely outcome. If they don’t, Talib is in the final year of his deal.
This was the worst possible outcome for any player, going from a Super Bowl contender to the tanking Dolphins is a Halloween nightmare.
Trade: Rams are trading CB Aqib Talib AND a fifth-round pick to Miami for a future pick, per source.
