At the end of the top of the 6th inning as the Nationals were walking off the field there was a loud noise that sounded like gunfire. When the announcers returned for the bottom of the 6th inning at Nationals Park in Washington DC, the players were missing from the field and fans were rushing towards the gates.
The DC police department said 2 people were shot outside the third base gate which led to the frenzy. Many fans panicked and ran for the gates which was the worst thing they could have done. Other videos show players jumping into the crowd to gather their families to bring them to safety.
The Nationals just announced the game has been suspended until tomorrow afternoon.
